Christmas Presents

This is gonna be a long one...lol
Firstly as this was Chloe's 1st Christmas i decided to buy her some special xmas outfits from the states,I bought 4 altogether,1 of which was a gorgeous santa type dress in lovely red velvet with white fur trim with white fur headband to match...the purpose of this outfit was to take photos of her with it on surrounded by all her prezzies! then later in the day she was to be changed into another gorgeous outfit,a red n white dress with a long coat to match n a headband...then the other 2 were for boxing day etc. Why am i mentioning this???? Cos i havent recieved the outfits thats why.the woman i bought them off (off of ebay) bearing in mind i paid for them 27th November...and they had to ship to uk....I got an email through paypal postage to say that she was shipping the items on the 10th December...hello why wait 2 weeks b4 sending them...specially as its xmas and they have to go to uk.On checking the tracking of the outfits i found that they didnt even leave the states until 19th Dec.The xmas dress Chloe will never get to where now...and the other 3 she may get to wear once,as i bought 12month size as i wanted them to fit perfectly...n well chloe will be 1year old in 2 weeks..n now is going into 12-18 months clothes...thats my moaning bout that over with....lol
Moan number 2...lol As some of you know my OH kindly paid for a bind it all n all the accs for me for my xmas prezzie....again i bought it from the states.It was posted from the states to me on 3rd Dec...p&p cost me £35 .I recieved a letter on 22nd of dec from parcel force stating that i wad to pay vat of £18.05 and a handling fee of £8...so i went online and paid the £26.08...and it said that my package would be released for delivery on 25th dec......its now31st...is it here???
NO it is not :( so my prezzie wasnt here for xmas...but i knew it was on its way...i hope..lol
Christmas day!!! My prezzie wasnt here to open..but i knew it would soon be mine so wasnt too bothered bout having anything to open! So imagine my suprise when OH handed me a big black bin liner with prezzies inside:)))) Guess what it was??? It was only a lappytop :))))(when i say the size of the box etc i kinda hoped it was a cricut...lol But i'll settle for Lappytop for now...lol
willhave to continue the rest of this story later as Chloe has just woken up...lol

First Challenge of the year

This weeks challenge which will be our first challenge of the year is ..............................................

An altered item using funky fairy products :)You may use items from the free section as well,as long as they are 'funky fairy' it doesnt matter wether they were purchased or free :) Will make a change from cards!

Anyone can join in the challenge...just leave a comment with a link to your creation :)

The altered item can be anything that you wish...an album,clipboard,tin,jar,cornflake box,toilet roll holder...lol Anything at all :)

As this will be the first challenge of the year there will be a little prize...not sure exactly on the fll prize but there will be a set of K & co brenda walton 'Dollshouse'chipboard alphabet n then i'l get a few other goodies together :) propably some primas...bits of ribbons...some stamped Bella images etc...when i have everything together i shall take a piccie!

Heres my creation...a baby milk tin!! Made using 'Pinkie Pops' which will be getting released tomorrow :)

Sorry i didnt get round to wishing everyone a merry christmas! i had all intentions of doing so on Christmas eve...but then Christmas eve turned out to be a very crappy day.Was up all night the night before with Chloe as she was unwell,didnt get to bed till 6am christmas eve morning.then took Chloe to docs...turns out she had an ear infection.
Then it just felt crap because of Dan..as this was the first christmas since he died.Its not a nice thing when you are wrapping up your kids christmas presents on christmas eve,but you're only wrapping up for 3 and not 4! And when you set up the presents into piles ready for christmas morning...and again there is a blank space where all Daniels presents should have been x
About a week n half before xmas,as Dan wasnt here to buy present for(although Dan enjoyed just buying presents for everyone else)I decided to get some money together and go shopping in Dans fave shoup (pound shop) for all the kids on the cancer ward at St.James's in leeds(thats where Dan was treated)Shopping in the pound shop was like something out of supermarket sweep as we had £120 to spend..they had to fetch us a trolley from out of back...lol I managed to get them to donate a whole load of gift bags to put the presents in :)There was 18 kids on the ward altogether ranging from 4 months old to 20yrs...so we shopped for each specific child...and each child got a right bag full of goodies:) When we were giving them out we had only got to the second bed on the 4 bed ward of the teenage unit(bearing in mind from Dan being diagnosed up until a cpl of weeks b4 he died thats where we spent most of our time) and i couldnt cope with it n started to cry n legged it out of the bay(it kinda made me feel a bit of a wolly!)With that the 13 year old girl (Lauren) mum realised that Dan had actually died.I went off to sit in a quiet room out of the way.N then what made my day was that while i was in there Lauren made me a thankyou card saying how much she loved all the presents,that it really means a lot to her and that she was sure that all the other kids on there felt the same.x
That was so lovely,n made me get my act together and help hand out the last couple of presents.
So i came away knowing that i'd achieved what i set out to do.For these kids,we cant give them a magic cure...we cant stop them dying...but what we can do is try n make a differnce...even just a tiny one.On recieving these presents all the kids had bigs smiles on their faces,and were happy...and thats all it was about.For some of those children This christmas will be their last...its an awful thing to think about but its a fact.Unless you work in oncology or you've experienced what its like having a child with cancer yourself,you dont realise what its like,or just how many kids it affects.Just because Daniel has died doesnt mean i will ever forget,i'l still continue to think of all the kids that are going through this...and i'l be doing the christmas presents every year, as long as im able to that is...n hopefully next years presents will be bigger n better...as i'l try n get more money together.
I think thats enough of that...didnt mean to write any of that...it kinda just came out!
Anyways i hope you all had a great Christmas...and happy new year!!!

A Bit of info about me for the rest os SBS-7
My name i Sharon...aka Funky Fairy! Im 34 years old (OOOhhh) i sooo hate typing that...lol
I live in the uk. I have 4 children...lee- 18 on boxing day.. shane - 11...Chloe 11 months... and then theres Daniel..x...who would have been 16 in July but sadly he passed away from cancer in february this year aged 15 xxx
I love everything 'crafty' Its my sanctuary....my escape as it were from the 'real' world. At the mo making things better by giving me something else to try n focus on.
I currently run n design funky fairys papercrafts....for which i design downloadable,printable papers for cardmaking/scrapbooking etc. I have also started designing 'rubbah' for Em over at stamping bella...The 'Doodles for Daniel' Collection.
I think this is a fabby idea n i can't wait to get to know you all better in the new year!!!

BACK IN THE LAND OF BLOG!!!

I'm back in the land of blog!!!!...email...internet! ...lol At last
Have had nothing but problems,problems,problems with internet since OH plugged the sky into pfone socket last week...to order the boxing....and on doing that my whole internet connection n phone line have gone to pot.At the minute i have it working....although if someone phones me i will get cut iff....great!...lol
I have done Dawns challenge...havent uploaded pic yet...the pic is gonna have to wait until tomoro!!
As its me that is supposed to set the challenge tomorrow...i have decided to leave it 2 weeks as i know peeps are busy with christmas and stuff...plus i gonna be giving a prize...n postie wont post at xmas...lol.
So i shall set the next challenge 2 weeks tomoro :)

THE BELLA BALL!!!

The Bella Ball started at 11pm uk time last night!!!! What is the Bella ball I here you ask!
To celebrate Ems 1st bella anniversary she has decided to hold 'Da bella Ball' Over on Splitcoast stampers

Its basically this....lots of talented ladies have come together ...and every hour from 11pm till 5am a new challenge was set. There will be WINNERS chosen from each challenge. Winners will recieve Fabby prizes from the Queen Bella herself!! Great news for us here in the uk is that we have until tomoro (sunday night) to do the challenges and upload our entries to splitcoast stampers :))) (No guesses as to what i shall be doing later...lol)

not enough time

I know that i havent been posting loads etc....but i have been soooooo busy :)))
I am putting together loadsa Fabby new paper kits...which will be released in the new year :)
And there will be lots more of my stamp designs from stamping Bella!!! Loadsa goodies coming your way in the new year :))) So watch this space!!!
In the new year there will be lots of paper pack downloads (just A4 papers) rather than full kits!!!
As the idea is for you to use the fabby stamping Bella 'Doodles for Daniel' stamps that i design to go with the papers...:)))
In the new year i hope to add to the free stuff more frequently too...its only as ive been so busy at the minute that i havent had the chance!!
Am really looking forward to releasing all the new stuff in the new year :))) N i hope you peeps will all love them too :)

Daring Cardmakers challenge :Birds

This week its Rhi here to Dare you... and the theme is to do with our feathered friends!(Are you remembering to feed them now it's chilly out)Robins, love birds, cartoon birds, stamped birds, paper pieced birds, dingbat birds. Its up to you. I dare you to make a card with a bird or birds on, it doesn't have to be a real species, the more weird and wonderful the better!

Well that was the challenge over on Daring Cardmakers

I must say that this was a hard one for me...lol I simply DONT do birds...lol I have nothing even remotely birdie amongst all my stash! I did however consider designing something just for this,but i felt that that would be cheating...lol :

So basically i've had to improvise :) Here is my 'Rockin Robin' lol

I soooooooooo wanted a zutter Bind it all!! Soooo i mentioned to OH earlier that i would like 1 for xmas...lol...he then wanted to know cost...etc...lol...so i said...well theres accessories...n binding rings...n thi...n that....lol He just wanted to know how much! .LOL So he agreed that he would £100....so i had to get what i could with that...:)))

So a hunting online i did go!...lol cheapest i could find in uk was like £50 for machine...£25 for tote...£25 for tool kit....£11 for book...n so on n so on...lol

So how on earth could i get all that....and binding rings...albums covers etc for £100 :(

So decided to go to ebay and look at the stores in the states...n i found this little lot....Can you believe all that:) N the price???? Altogether with the shipping (the shipping is just over £30)

I came to a grand total of £107.45 :))) He's even aggreed to pay the extra £7.45 lol :)))))))))
